Captivate Techniques Overview [PSH]

I'm not going to lie. This is my favorite section of this course.

I love flash.

Those crazy arpeggio runs. Those captivating octave sweeps. Those next-level techniques that make people say WOW.

Over the course of my playing, I've found, developed, tweaked, and flat-out created a number of flashy runs/fills/patterns that'll captivate audiences.

And the best part is, most of these moves look incredibly difficult, but when you actually break them down, they're pretty simple and easy to learn. As long as you learn them in the right way…

Key Points:

1. There are 4 things you HAVE to learn in order to learn a captivate technique properly. The notes, the form/motion, the Accelerated Learning Techniques, and how to implement it into a song.

2. Correct form/motion is HUGE. You could practice for months, and if you're using incorrect form, you're simply drilling in bad habits. Using correct form will speed up your time to learn it.

3. Use the Accelerated Learning Techniques every time you practice these. They'll help you speed your progress by drilling in the techniques from multiple different angles.

Where to Go From Here:

Try some of these out! Go to the next couple lessons, I promise you'll love the Secret Sauce Left Hand pattern, it's beautiful.

And Arpeggio Sweeping? This is the one skill that really took me from being an average pianist to a “WOW” pianist in the eyes of my audience. It looks incredibly flashy, but when you break it down, it's pretty simple actually.

See you in the next lesson!
