I almost didn't want to give this one away… It's my “Secret Sauce” Left Hand Pattern.
People ask me all the time on YouTube… “What are you playing with your left hand?”
I have over 100 videos on YouTube. A lot of people think I make up a different left hand part for each song. But really, I only have 5 main patterns I use.
I've tested a bunch out, stealing some from arrangements I liked, looking some up on YouTube, tweaking them to make them my own. And this one is my #1 left hand pattern.
It uses 9th chord arpeggios, which is what I like to call “The Piano Guys Secret Formula”. But if you don't know what 9th chords are, don't worry, you can just follow the “secret sauce” pattern in the video.
It can make ANY song sound good. Any song. You'll see what I mean in the video…
The Secret Sauce Left Hand Pattern: Revealed

Key points from the lesson:
1. This pattern can be used in almost any song to give it a distinct sound.
2. Make sure to use the practice strategies when you learn it. I promise they'll help you learn it in half the time.
3. The double-thumb thing at the top is the trickiest part. Some people have said they like to cross over and play that top note with their second finger. I much prefer the thumb. As long as you're using pedal, it should be able to cover up the gap.
